Lived-experience digital support for gambling harm

Interrupt the moment before harm happens.

Calm & Steady is a protected prototype built from lived experience to support people affected by gambling harm in high-risk moments: urges, chasing losses, payday risk, relapse, shame and isolation.

Currently in protected prototype review.

The full Calm & Steady prototype is not publicly available. A one-page overview can be requested for private feedback from people connected to gambling harm, lived experience, recovery, safeguarding, public health, mental health or digital support.

Built from lived experience

Created by Craig Dempsey.

Calm & Steady was created by Craig Dempsey, a gambling harm awareness advocate with lived experience of addiction, recovery, emotional collapse and rebuilding.

This project is built around one simple idea:

Interrupt the moment before harm happens.

Calm & Steady is not a replacement for professional, clinical or crisis support. It is a lived-experience support concept designed to help people pause, tell the truth, avoid chasing losses, protect money and take one safer next step.

One steady step at a time.

Built for the real moment where harm can escalate.
About Calm & Steady

A practical pause tool, not another judgement.

Calm & Steady helps someone slow the moment down, take one safer action, listen to lived-experience audio, contact support, and protect themselves before gambling harm escalates.
